Very sturdy

I bought this to help me clean up the pile of pears we get each year from our 1 tree. I've used it twice now and it works like a charm. Easy to put together and use. Very heavy duty and sturdy construction. Feels like it will last a long time. Clean up isn't bad, the hardest part being the mesh bag. My granddaughter helped me press the pears the first time and had such fun cranking it down and seeing the juice flow. I really need to get the fruit crusher for next year. Then the process will be a breeze. It was sold out, so this year I'm having to crush the pears by hand after cutting. That is the hardest part. Now on to the apples!

Customer Service

Purchased a press and when it arrived there was a small problem with the threaded rod. Emailed the company and they sent me replacement parts. No fuss at all . Great company. Would buy from them again.

Practical Fruit Mill for the Homestead

Our family pressed pears for pear cider with this. For our small operation, this was perfect. Relatively easy to put together. Would suggest cutting and even pulverizing your fruit first. We cut/cored our pears and ran them through a blender. We made a large batch of this juicy pulp (about 8 gallons) and poured it into the bag (included), folded the bag over the pulp into the center of the press, and applied the would blocks for pressing. We didn't anticipate this extra step of blending our fruit, but in the end it made sense so that we got as much of the juice as possible. We are considering making extra blocks, as this we ran out of room to wind the press down and felt it could be pressed further.

The components of the mill are heavy duty, and I anticipate this lasting several seasons. We will be trying to mill our grapes next.

Definitely recommend for homemade wines and cider.
